If you have to walk on eggshells the entire game because of how the Wanted System operates, OR, if you don't engage in certain activities in the game because of how the Wanted System works, it's broken. Do you think the law in that town is going to care about giving you a fair trial? This game takes place in a time when scum like you (Arthur or John) are not welcome or wanted there, so they would be honoured to put a bounty on your head for simply looking at them the wrong way. They are family, or at the very least friends. You kill one of their own (self defence or not), the person you killed probably grew up with those townsfolk. You play a gunslinging stranger that wonders into their town. I don’t think the wanted system is broken at all.
