The English-sounding language is dubbed differently for each country in order to make the sounds somewhat familiar, despite the fact that it seems absurd. For example, instead of saying yes, the minions say oui oui. The minions have their own unique way of speaking, often using made up words or reversing words. It is primarily a mix of French and English, with a few Spanish words thrown in. Therefore, the human characters in the Despicable Me movies can understand the generally nonsensical gibberish that the Minions speak, which is partially borrowed from various languages like French, English, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, and German.
